Am I the only one who thought the suit of armor God submitted was cool as hell? Sure every videogame/movie out there has women in sexy not-very-protective armor and that’s a problem, but it isn’t God’s fault. I still think both sets are cool.

[I also am continuously lol-ing over the ‘I don’t like God’s design’ remarks just because the name is God and it’s hilarious to me.]

“[I also am continuously lol-ing over the ‘I don’t like Guy Fieri’s Nipples’s design’ remarks just because the name is Guy Fieri’s Nipples and it’s hilarious to me.]”

I’M LOL-ING TOO TRUST ME, KIDDO.

    Mutants

    aywasconfessions:

I wish mutants could get entirely erased off of the site. There’s not a thing more pointless and ugly than them and every time I see the welcome page clogged with these stupid breedings just makes me want to jump off a cliff.

good job at not liking thing here have this

I’m deeply humored by the latest AC confessions because I have Ponify set to change the word “god” to Guy Fieri’s Nipples.

My deepest apologies to all staff on the breeding team.

Atlas has ~7 breeding requests accepted.

And there’s 14 days until the end of October.

Please remember I love you all. Have a hen riding the back of a turtle.

  5. Hello! I would like to ask about swordfighting (so cool). Is your blacksmithing related to making swords? Also, do you get a lot of bruises?

Swordfighting is really cool! It’s a wonderful method to learn for self-defense, a good work-out, and it’s a great way to discipline oneself. It’s a rough regiment to get into, but once you get past the brunt of things, it becomes a part of you, and everything becomes easier. (arguable, though) It’s not very easy to find a good sponsor to train you, but they’re all exceptional at what they do.

My blacksmithing started with making chains for chain-mail armor, to be honest! I worked with armor before I got into weapons, but I have made my own swords. The first one I made was a claymore, who I named Rafaello. If I get the time, I’ll fish him out of my trunk and get a pretty picture up of him.

And oooooh boy do I get bruises. I’ve smashed my fingers, cut up my palms, burned the pads of my fingers, and sooo much more. Once, when lighting my forge, the fire belched and burnt the hair off of both of my arms.

    It was hilarious.

    And humiliating.

    HELLO, AN INTRODUCTION

I SUPPOSE WHILE AYWAS IS DOWN, I COULD INTRODUCE MYSELF, SINCE FOR THE MOST PART I HAVE BEEN QUIET.

HELLO! I am WhiteCloak from account #7634. I haven’t been an active member of the Aywas community until recently, but I signed up in June of 2010, so I have been around the block a bit. I kinda keep to myself, but I’m trying to be a little more meet-n-greet than I usually am. It’s getting me out of this little box I usually hole myself up in.

I’m 19 years old, nearing up on the big 20 (reluctantly). In college for both Game Design and Small Business Management. I sew and do blacksmithing in the summer/fall. I’m a swordfighting student of 7 years, and an archer for 3. As you can tell, I like to keep busy.

I currently have a few cats, who are precious and dear to me. I used to own more exotic animals (nudibranchs and chameleons, notably), but since I’m gearing up to move out soon, I can’t own any until I have a stable footing in my new home. unu

I draw stuff! Notably monsters, ladies, dragons, etc. I use OpenCANVAS 1.1 to do all my stuff.

    swim

I’m trying to learn how to SAI/FireAlpaca, though. It’s a lot for me, considering that I am SO OVERWHELMED by using anything other than a pen tool. 2 - 3 layers and a pen tool…is a hard habit to break.

But, ah, before I prattle on too much, I’ll leave it at that! Hi!

Question mark to open answers so people can ask me things?

Do staff ever plan to remove the HA items blatantly ripped off from Gaia?

    songbird64118:

    aywasconfessions:

I’ve reported it once (months ago) and I know others have as well. There are at least three items on the site that are so obviously copied its not even funny. Every time I go to the Welcome Back page and see the User Spotlight I’m reminded of it, because the person’s avatar is wearing Gaia’s Mini Angel Wings. I’ve seen that style of wings in multiple places, but with how crazy the copyright custom rules are you’d think they’d care just a little bit about stolen HA items.

It isn’t as though Gaia doesn’t have HA items that are clearly based off of material that fall under copyright laws.  Even Gaia’s Mini Wings aren’t an original concept, nor are the horns that were mentioned.

Though heavily referencing the Gaia items, and even admitting to it, seems to be a different story, I suppose.

Gaia Online skids on by and I’m not sure how. The first time I ever heard of them having to get rid of an item was when Andrew Hussie’s girlfriend confronted them about the Candy Horns; they’re no longer obtainable through the site but they’re still in the database and can be sold through the Market.

But Gaia Online is a bigger site than Aywas, and far more established. They’re also regularly sponsored by many of the things that they have made items in tribute to; not all, but a good portion of them. They surely have plenty of money to defend themselves in a lawsuit. Aywas, however, does not have any of this. I believe that Slash said that they only have ~$10,000 in the case something legal happens.

So Aywas can’t really…allow themselves to be opened up to copyright infringement at all. They can’t risk it. No one can (or, well, should), but Aywas doesn’t have the dosh to put out in the case that something happens like some others can.
